President Draupadi Murmu's visit to Belur on March 28 has prompted tight security measures along the entire route of her travel, including Belur Math. The city police have halted all traffic on GT Road for an hour to ensure security arrangements are in place. Officers have been deployed to safeguard the President.
This is President Murmu's first visit to Murmu State after taking office. Alongside the Belur Math darshan at 9 am, she has two other programs in Kolkata and Shanti Niketan. According to administration sources, the President will reach Belur by road from Kolkata via the Second Hooghly Bridge, and her journey will be wrapped in immaculate security.
The entire GT Road in Bali is lined with strong barricades made of bamboo and poles. Visitors and devotees have been barred from entering during her stay from Tuesday morning to 10 pm.
The President is scheduled to spend an hour at Belur Math.
